Henriette tells us:

I grew up in a Christian family in the Netherlands. In 1995 I moved to Northampton with my 3 year old son. We started visiting the United Reformed Church and people there soon became our English ‘family.’

My working career in the UK has predominantly been in health and social care.

After attending an Alpha course in 2003, I was involved with short-term mission opportunities abroad; the Mercy Ships in Sierra Leone, a Discipleship Training School in Norway and an outreach project in Armenia.

These and other mission trips, as well as experiencing church youth work, did eventually lead to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament for which I studied at Westminster College in Cambridge. In July 2015 I was ordained as minister in the pastorate of Enfield North.

My great passion is to enable people to rediscover the Bible, as it is the place where we read about God’s love and promises for our life and for the world. I particularly enjoy exploring Scripture through interactive Bible study, story telling and in art.

I am excited to be serving the people at Trinity URC as their new minister. My prayer is that our journey together will be a beautiful adventure as we continue to discover where God is leading the church in Plymouth.
